"It's not what's on the plate" - Pastor Ken Deasy

What a pouring out of love was shared during our Post Resurrection Day Celebration for our Saturday guests. We asked and you reached out to share your time, talent and treasures with our guests.

Mildred La Cour, Mabel Gibbons and Mrs Sara Clines brought hot huge pans of spaghetti, Lady Diana brought sauce, cookies and parmesan  cheese, Vikki Rodriguez called and found we needed salad she brought 6 big bags and when she saw that the dressing donation didn't come through she returned with salad dressing and stayed to help prep, Aunt Helen  donated three home made lemon cakes, Chef Thompson sent in his famous home made coconut cake,  the Monday night soup supper group donated cookies and cake, Cleonia A. donated a  12  bags of candies, Geraldine Moran donated 6 baskets and individual candy treats bags with, rabbits,  games and windmills that lit up. , Linda F and her family donated 35 fancy  fun filled to the brim candy baskets, Sophia Berkley donated 36 pink Easter bunnies, Shirley Jackson donated spaghetti sauce and noodles, Natalie B, donated ground beef for the sauce,  Kirlin LeDe arrived at 9am to help start preparing  for the  meal and cooking the sauce at 1pm,  she realized that the expected donations of sauce and  pasta had not arrived she went to the store and purchased and donated what was needed and, then she left to go to her job to work for the remainder of the day,   Praise God for sending these saints to share and  pass their blessings on to our guests.  Amen

Our S.H.A.R.E. Ministry  Leaders Azalie, Yolanda, Kirlin was able to join us, worked tirelessly before, during and after our special celebration for our guests.  They shopped, cooked, baked and set up and prepped the area for our for our volunteers to work and the area where our guests were served and stayed to clean.   God has blessed them with a  love and compassion that they are comfortable with  sharing and  passing  on to our guests and volunteers.

Melaine Sandoval and her mom Sheyla Palmares arrived early to wash our  stack of needed cooking and serving supplies, opened cans, buttered bread and did the whatever else was needed until they saw we had help.   Rolando and his younger brothers Enrique and David  filled the meal bags and special bags, served and cleaned, Sidney and her grandmother Concepcion worked everywhere from prepping salad, spaghetti, filling plates,  making cards, serving, stuffing, wrapping and slicing. Celeste prepped, filled, wrapped, served and cleaned,  Nika Neal and her cousin Zaim Trujeque came mixed, filled, move supplies  served and cleaned . Santos who said he could only serve for a short time, moved our supplies, served, cleaned and at 5:45 finished  scrubbing  the spaghetti pot, Flora and her dedicated  young daughters Tanya and Rosie served, cleaned and washed the  gigantic pile  of dirty pots, pans and dishes and  Gloria Walker who  is always present with prayers of encouragement and support for S.H.A.R.E  she prepped, led the pray circle, served  and cleaned.  These  are the wingless angels that God blessed to give us examples of faith through their  action of  their works this week.

It is said it takes a village to raise a child it took the sharing of  blessings of all the above named children of God to make imprints and a difference in  the lives of our guests.   "Alleluia somebody cares and they showed it"   Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Penelope who is nine years old brought and emptied her very heavy over  stuffed piggy bank filled with coins and "paper pennies" in our penny jar. Penelope had been given $20.00 for a special occasion, she chose to have this placed in her piggie bank  along with her other money that she was saving for the needy.   She is being encouraged and supported by her parents in sharing her blessings and passing them on to those in need. Penelope is showing us about her faith and putting it into action by her works at the young age of nine.   We are grateful to you Penelope and your parents for sharing with those who are in need in our community.  Amen.

Have a blessed journey this week as you feel the presence of the risen Christ that if you allow it can help you to have an aura and  that special stride  in knowing, feeling and displaying you are a child of King Jesus.    Amen.

Blessings,
The S.H.A.R.E. Ministry

April 7, 2013 Message

Thank you English Lectors for the donation of the entire meal for our 100 plus guests.  Carrie we thank you for staying to help us prep the bags. Our guests were grateful and  thanked you in prayer during our prayer circle before the meal.

Yolanda's dedication and love of service for our guests sets the atmosphere for our volunteers  Concepcion and her grand daughter Sidney, Ramada and her sons Rolando, Enrique and David they after prepping the lunch bags made Easter cards for the homebound before going out to serve our guests.  Nancy, Flora , Natalie, Gloria and Santos joined us to serve our guests.  These are the wingless angels and  saints that God sent to donate their time and talent in serving our guests.

Truly God is blessing our St. Agatha S.H.A.R.E. outreach ministry.  He provides us with you our supportive church family.  He gives to you and you give to our guests.  Many days when we arrive on Saturday we are not sure if we will have sandwiches or anything to serve our guests.  No one is schedule to help with prepping or serving our guests.  Yet we always have  food to serve and  some body  shows up to help.  This truly is God's hand supporting and providing for our needs to be of service for our guests.   All praise and honor to God for He is true to His word and He is blessing us as we reach out to pass on these blessings to our guests who are in need.  Amen

We pray that you make the time during your journey this week to through your works express  and show your faith.  May  the risen Christ  supply you with reassurance, strength, support , comfort and hope as you reach out to make a difference in the life of His people.

We'd like to share a song for listening with you that we heard this week "Ain't God Something" by Bobby Blue Bland we think this may just say it all...  Amen

Blessings,

Thank You Breakfast for Our St Agatha Youth on March 10, 2013

The Youth Volunteers were active visible participants during the 8:30 AM mass from Greeters, to singing in the choir, to the collection, taking up of the gifts, to receiving communion as a group and receiving a blessing before exiting the church as a group from Father Bill.

The Youth Volunteers, parents and their invited guests were served breakfast of sausages, waffles, eggs, fresh fruit, milk and coffee before receiving their Certificates of Appreciation and Recognition and Youth Volunteer Scarves.

Reginald Paige our Youth Volunteer of the year in 2007 was the guest speaker.  Reginald spoke of his volunteer experience in St. Agatha since he was 3 years old.  Christian Culmer-Evans shared his musical gift with us.  Several youth Volunteers spoke of their experience in 2012 serving with the Peer Leaders Group.  A few of the Youth Volunteers shared their future plans - one will go to  St. Johns in NY and  one will attend Morehouse College in Atlanta in the Fall. Join us in the recognition, respect and honor of these St. Agatha Youth Volunteers by thanking them and giving them your smile when you pass them, this is the beginning.

"NOBODY CAN DO EVERYTHING BUT EVERYBODY CAN DO SOMETHING"

We thank Sister Karen, Father Bill, Deacon Ricardo and you our church family for being a part of the rock upon which our church stands, Maggie A., Carmen A., Marco and Gilbert are the Youth Group Coordinators who spend their time in providing an environment that stimulates and encourages growth in compassion and empathy, and the need to pass on blessings and Tere A., our Religious Ed Director, who introduced our Youth Volunteers to serving God.

God sent Kirlin. She spent hours measuring, shopping for fabric, cutting, sewing and hanging the curtains to decorate the stage.  The stage was the center of the Youth Volunteer Celebration.  Yolanda's Aunt Helen made the scarves.  Celeste and Vikki came to serve with the Saturday meal program, went to mass and returned to stay way into the night to help decorate the hall on Saturday.  Gloria Walker, who steps up always when we called upon her, was there by our sides throughout our planning, decorating, serving and cleaning up. Fernando Rodriguez came and brought his children Kevin and Erika to serve and clean up.  The parents of Chelsea Herbert and Kimberly Prera, who were our guests, saw we were short handed they joined in to serve until others came.  Rachel Juarez is such an important part of S.H.A.R.E. We could not reach out and be of service during our special activities and events without Rachel's dedication to S.H.A.R.E.   Isabel Juarez is our youngest volunteer. She just turned nine years old. Her enthusiasm and love of serving is amazing. She brought her Mom, Camerina who served and washed endless dishes.  Our "kitchen ministry ", where all things happen was the heart of the breakfast,  was blessed by  the hands of Virginia Moore and Clara Davidson. They kept the food flowing. These ladies heard our need of help way over at St. Brigid and came over to offer their helping hands.  Waffle cook, Concepcion and our all time fantastic teen age chef, "Chef Tiara" who did everything from waffle making, to prepping the eggs , cooking sausages and cleaning up with the "kitchen cooking  saints" were such a blessing.   Manuel designed and printed the certificates and printed copies for the signs.  Enrique printed pictures and made signs.  Jose put the sign on the board on Adams, prepared the hall, made coffee and took special care of our needs and supplies for the day.  Martin kept a check on us when Jose left and made sure we had what we needed. He did the final hall clean up on Sunday.

We are a very small ministry with two active Leaders Azalie and Yolanda.  These two young women are truly a gift from God. They go way beyond just volunteering on Saturday to prep and serve meals to our guests.  They are committed to serving those in need.  They serve tirelessly and will ask how and what else can we do to serve and "what are we doing next."   Yolanda and Azalie spend endless hours before, during and after all of our events and attempts to reach out and do their "God's Work". This time it was no exception. Together they are an awesome team. They prayed, planned, shopped, worried, decorated and prayed some more before serving. Yolanda took care of the hall and food flow. Azalie took care of the Emcee duties.  The Christ in them shows by living their faith through their works.

God placed ALL of these wingless angels and saints together to make this celebration and recognition of our St. Agatha Youth Volunteers hopefully memorable with imprints being made on their spirit so that they will continue to reach out as they journey and make a difference in a life in the name of
 J E S U S... Amen.
Blessings,
The S.H.A.R.E. Ministry

Letter to the Youth Volunteers
March 10, 2013
Dear St. Agatha Youth Volunteers,

Thank you for caring enough to make and spend your time sharing your talents to improve the quality of life for others.  For this you have not received pay and sometimes not even a thank you recognition.  Yet you still reach out when your only reward was the feeling of self satisfaction in knowing that you made a difference for someone because you cared enough to step up, reach out and touch a life that was in need.

We pray that these special acts of kindness that you have done for others will stimulate you to continue to want to serve.  Some of you will do this through your choice of a lifetime career, others will become a mentor and role model to encourage other youth to serve.

May God watch over you and keep your heart and spirit full of love and compassion as you walk and grow in the light of Christ... Amen

With much admiration, appreciation, respect and love,
Blessings,
The S.H.A.R.E. Ministry

Announcement January 19th-20th, 2013

"NOBODY CAN DO
EVERYTHING BUT
EVERYBODY CAN DO SOMETHING"
Thank you to our dedicated awesome S.H.A.R.E. Ministry Leaders, Azalie, Yolanda and Kirlin for their compassion, love, commitment in serving our guests each Saturday over the years.  Their works show through how they serve and create an atmosphere in which the volunteers are comfortable in reaching out to our guests and the guests feel the dignity, respect and love that is dished up and served them each week.
We have youth who come to serve because their school requires them to do give back through service hours. Many of them once their hours are completed return" I like the way I feel when I serve" is what some of them say. Volunteer Flora and her daughters Tanya and Rosie have come to serve each Saturday and participated in our projects for over a year,  Concepcion has brought her grand daughter to serve at her side for months,  Lilly and her daughter Smira have joined us since November to serve.  This week Berta and  her friend came and brought her children Emily and Ben to serve along side of them.   Joe Petersen made the lunches for the youngest guests and had his mom Ann delivered them to us. These children are being shown through the works of their parents, grandparents of what it is to give back and pass on blessings.  Natalie bless her heart comes with loads of treasures that she has gathered up in her travels during the week for our guests.  Mr Rincon get's up before dawn to go to get the produce and flowers,  Santos spends his Saturday afternoons giving back and being refueled by the  kindness  that he gives away.  The S.H.A.R.E. Ministry is humbly grateful to God for His sending  of these saints to bless and assist us with our efforts to make/be  the  difference  in a life in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

Today think about asking God to give you the  comfort and support for  your daily journey in your  effort at becoming more aware and sensitive to the needs of others.   In fulfilling this daily need ask that this need be kept between God and you, that you refrain from the need to boast or approach the person you have done the kindness for with  "you knows or I gave you that how does it fit or how do you like it or use/spend  it on this".  If this is the need that comes with the kindness then perhaps there is a need to ask for God's guidance in reaching out in kindness.   For some of our guests during the gift giving at the dinner it was difficult because they reported being approached by good intended donors  reminding them that they gave the whatever.  For some parents when their children were approached it was really difficult some said.  The parents  apparently prepared the children who found no gifts at home on Christmas morning that Santa left them in the hall for them and..

Have a God filled and blessed journey this week.
Blessings,
The S.H.A.R.E. Ministry
